This apple crisp is sweet and delicious and can be made gluten free or grain free by using different flour.

Use all organic ingredients, and ensure any dried spices are labeled certified gluten free.

Ingredients:
Apple Mixture:
5 to 6 Apples
1 Lemon or orange, juiced
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 tablespoon Sugar
Crust Mixture:
1/2 cup Gluten free flour or nut flour
1/4 cup Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Baking powder (gluten free)
1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
Dash Salt
1 Orange or lemon, rind of
1/2 cup Butter or coconut oil
Substitutions and Notes:
  • Optional nuts: You can also add in 1/4 to 1/2 cup of coarse chopped toasted nuts to the crust mixture, that gives a wonderful crunch to your apple crisp.
  • Optional raisins: You can add 1/4 cup raisins if desired. If you do, reduce the sugar so it doesn't turn out too sweet.
  • Dairy free: Use a non dairy fat or oil of your choice in place of the butter, such as coconut oil.
  • Grain free: For the flour, if you prefer grain free, you can use Yuca flour, or another mixed grain free flour of your choice. Also, choose a grain free baking powder.
