  1. This sauce is made with fresh or frozen raspberries, lemon or lime juice, honey or another sweetener, and a dash of salt. (image 1)
  2. Combine the ingredients in a saucepan over medium low heat. (image 2)
  3. Cook for 2 to 10 minutes to desired thickness. Mash the berries while it's cooking. (image 3)
  4. Serve the sauce on pancakes or waffles, Greek yogurt, spongecake or cheesecake, ice cream, or as a replacement for store bought raspberry jam. (image 4)
Pro tips for perfect raspberry sauce:
  • Stir the sauce constantly to prevent it from burning, and be sure to wipe the sides down with your spoon regularly, as the pan is hottest where there is little sauce.
  • Keep the heat on medium low, to prevent it from burning, and to prevent it from getting too thick too fast.
Substitutions and Notes:
  • Raspberries: This turns out just as good whether you use fresh or frozen raspberries, and you could even try using blackberries or black raspberries for something a bit different.

Raspberry Sauce
This tangy sauce is great on Homemade No Grain Pancakes, plain Greek yogurt, ice cream or Homemade Cheesecake. It can even be used in place of store bought jam.
Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 2 to 10 minutes Makes: About 2 cups / 8 servings Difficulty: Easy
Gluten free Dairy free Egg free Grain free Soy free
Calories: 56 kcal | Protein: 1 g | Total Fat: 0 g | Total Carbs: 14 g | Net Carbs: 10 g | Fiber: 4 g
Ingredients:
4 cups Raspberries, fresh or frozen
1/2 teaspoon Fresh lemon or lime juce
3 tablespoons Honey (unfiltered), or other sweetener of choice
Dash Sea salt
Substitutions and Notes:
  • Raspberries: This works just as well whether you use fresh or frozen berries, and you can even use blackberries or black raspberries when you can find them, for some variety.
  • Stir the sauce constantly so that it doesn't burn. Wipe down the sides of the pan often since the hottest spot is where there is only a little bit of sauce.
  • Keep the burner on medium low so that it doesn't burn and so it won't get too thick too soon.
Directions:
  • Place raspberries in a pan over medium low heat. Add the fresh lemon juice, a dash of salt, and the sweetener.
  • Cook until desired thickness, about 2 to 10 minutes. While cooking, mash berries with the spoon, and stir constantly. For thinner sauce, cook for less time. For thicker sauce, cook for longer time.

Serve as pancake syrup on hot pancakes, on plain Greek yogurt for a tasty breakfast treat, on ice cream to make a great Sundae, on homemade cheesecake, or even in place of store bought jam.

Enjoy!
